My husband and I are working on our weight and we put together this chili in order to follow the guidelines of the program we are on and provide us with a yummy meal - success!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground turkey (85% lean; 15% fat)
  • .50 - onions, yellow, medium
  • 3/4 to 1 cups yellow bell pepper
  • 3/4 to 1 cups red bell pepper
  • 3 - jalapeno peppers
  • 1 - habanero pepper, fresh
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic or fresh garlic chopped (adjust to your taste)
  • 2 cans 28 oz no salt added crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can 15.5 oz black beans
  • 1 can large red kidney beans
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth, low salt, 99% fat free

How To Make ground turkey chili - isa friendly (30 day)

  • Step 1
    Brown ground turkey in skillet on stove top.
  • Step 2
    Chop all veggies into desired size. Wear gloves when chopping and handling the jalapeno peppers and habanero. Keep or discard seeds and membrane according to personal taste for hotness.
  • Step 3
    Open bean cans and place in colander - drain and rinse
  • Step 4
    Place ground turkey, chopped veggies, beans, 2 cups chicken broth and the contents of the two cans No Salt Added Crushed Tomatoes into a 6 quart (at least) Crockpot and stir together. Cook on low for about 3 hours. Stir occasionally.
