perfectly broiled steak
My mom broiled either T-bone or NY strip steaks that would melt in your mouth. She was lucky enough to have a gas stove with a broiler on the bottom. It is more difficult to use an electric stove but it can be done. Also this recipe takes time so do not rush the broiling time or it will not turn out right. Hope you enjoy.

- - salt & pepper to taste
How To Make perfectly broiled steak
-
Step 1Wash steaks in cool water, DO NOT TRIM FAT.
-
Step 2In a broiler pan put 1 cup of water in bottom then put the tray on top. Add more water as needed.
-
Step 3Put steaks on top of tray DO NOT SEASON. On top of each steak drop dollups (1/2 t) of butter in several places.
-
Step 4Set broiler temp to 275 degrees. Broil steaks turning them over every 30 minutes and repeating the butter. Continue doing this until meat is at the required doneness. We eat our steak medium well so the cook time should be approximately 2 hours.
-
Step 5Salt and pepper to taste when done.
