This is a good variety of glazes for your ham. It gives a slightly different flavor to it and you always have some of these ingredients in your cabinet so experiment.

How To Make wonderful ham glazes!

  • Step 1
I had to list something on the ingredient list to be able to post so I just listed all the ingredients and for each different glaze I put measurements but most are to taste.
  • Step 2
Honey and Cherry Glaze. Chop fresh or canned cherries; mix with honey. Baste ham with it several times during time ham is baking.
  • Step 3
Cider Glaze. Coat ham with brown sugar and baste with sweet cider.
  • Step 4
Mustard Glaze. Coat ham with thin layer of prepared mustard; sprinkle generously with brown sugar. Or I like to mix sugar and mustard and spread all over ham. I also add either crushed cloves or stick cloves in surface of ham.
  • Step 5
Pineapple Glaze. Mix 1 cup crushed pineapple (drained) and 1 cup brown sugar. Spread over ham. Baste ham often during time of baking with the Pineapple juice.
  • Step 6
Brown sugar syrup Glaze. Boil 1 cup brown sugar with 1/2 cup water for 5 minutes. Baste ham several times while ham is baking with this syrup.
  • Step 7
Maple syrup Glaze. Use plain pure maple syrup to baste ham while baking. (not too often).
  • Step 8
Jelly Glaze. 1 cup of any tart jelly melted and cooked with 1 tablespoon cornstarch until clear makes a delicious basting coating.
  • Step 9
Orange Glaze. Use the juice and grated peel of 1 orange with 1 cup brown sugar or orange marmalade; garnish with orange slices.
