How to Make Wonderful Ham Glazes!

Step-by-Step

  1. I had to list something on the ingredient list to be able to post so I just listed all the ingredients and for each different glaze I put measurements but most are to taste.
  2. Honey and Cherry Glaze.
Chop fresh or canned cherries; mix with honey. Baste ham with it several times during time ham is baking.
  3. Cider Glaze.
Coat ham with brown sugar and baste with sweet cider.
  4. Mustard Glaze.
Coat ham with thin layer of prepared mustard; sprinkle generously with brown sugar. Or I like to mix sugar and mustard and spread all over ham. I also add either crushed cloves or stick cloves in surface of ham.
  5. Pineapple Glaze.
Mix 1 cup crushed pineapple (drained) and 1 cup brown sugar. Spread over ham. Baste ham often during time of baking with the Pineapple juice.
  6. Brown sugar syrup Glaze.
Boil 1 cup brown sugar with 1/2 cup water for 5 minutes. Baste ham several times while ham is baking with this syrup.
  7. Maple syrup Glaze.
Use plain pure maple syrup to baste ham while baking. (not too often).
  8. Jelly Glaze.
1 cup of any tart jelly melted and cooked with 1 tablespoon cornstarch until clear makes a delicious basting coating.
  9. Orange Glaze.
Use the juice and grated peel of 1 orange with 1 cup brown sugar or orange marmalade; garnish with orange slices.
