easy biscuits and gravy

I love short cuts for breakfast since I am NOT a morning person. This is a super simple recipe that only takes a short time to cook! We love this for breakfast, but also as an evening meal! You can make this with homemade biscuits too, but it will take more time.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork breakfast sausage (we love jimmy deans maple sausage)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 cups milk
  • 8 tablespoons flour
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tube 8 grands original biscuits (you can make your own,, but this is a short cut recipe)

How To Make easy biscuits and gravy

  • Step 1
    Prepare biscuits according to package directions. Allow to bake while making the gravy.
  • Step 2
    Fry sausage in large skillet. Remove to a bowl
  • Step 3
    In same pan, melt butter under low heat being careful not to burn.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat and add flour, salt and pepper, stir with wire whisk to make a paste.
  • Step 5
    Return to heat and add milk. Over medium heat,stir with wire whisk until gravy thickens.
  • Step 6
    Add sausage and bring to a soft boil
  • Step 7
    Serve over biscuits
