I love all different types of goulash, but Mom's is my Dad's favorite and one of mine too. While we growing up, my best friend's brother liked Mom's goulash so much, Mom would send up a bowl of it to their house just for him. It's different than any other goulash I've ever had.
1Brown hamburger and drain. Add tomato sauce, water. salt, pepper, dry mustard, and onion flakes and simmer 20 minutes.
2While sauce is cooking, bring 4 quarts water to a rapid boil, add macaroni and cook, uncovered at a rapid boil 6-8 minutes, or until tender when cut with a fork. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place macaroni in a buttered 2 quart baking dish.
3Add 2 Tbsp grated cheese to meat sauce and stir until melted. Pour about 3/4 of sauce over macaroni and mix. Top with remaining sauce and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
