Ingredients

  • 1 large onion,chopped
  • 1 - clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon reduced-calorie margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried whole basil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried whole oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried whole thyme
  • 16 ounces tomatoes, canned whole, undrained chopped
  • 8 ounces canned kidney beans

How To Make quick country chili

  • Step 1
    saute onion and garlic in margarine in a large sauce pan until tender.
  • Step 2
    Add salt, basil, chili powder, oregano, thyme, and pepper, stirring well.
  • Step 3
    Stir in tomatoes and beans. bring to a simmer, uncovered, cook 10 to 15 minutes. serve hot with your favorite cracker or cornbread
