Ingredients

  • 1 large
    onion,chopped
  • 1
    clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    reduced-calorie margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dried whole basil
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried whole oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried whole thyme
  • 16 oz
    tomatoes, canned whole, undrained chopped
  • 8 oz
    canned kidney beans

How to Make Quick Country Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. saute onion and garlic in margarine in a large sauce pan until tender.
  2. Add salt, basil, chili powder, oregano, thyme, and pepper, stirring well.
  3. Stir in tomatoes and beans. bring to a simmer, uncovered, cook 10 to 15 minutes. serve hot with your favorite cracker or cornbread
