Reminds me of the way my mom use to make her beans.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried pinto beans
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic.chopped
  • 1 1/2 pounds linguesa, sliced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons cloves
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 - green bell pepper chopped
  • PORTUGUESE PINTO BEANS

How To Make portuguese pinto beans

  • Step 1
    Soak beans overnight or bring to a boil then let stand 1 hour.
  • Step 2
    Cook until tender.
  • Step 3
    Brown onion and garlic in oil. Add linguesa and brown lightly.
  • Step 4
    Add tomato sauce, cloves, chill powder, salt and pepper. Add the ingredience to beans.
  • Step 5
    Cook for 30 mins. longer until done.
