This is a lovely crab Stuffed bread,and low in fat. 6 grams of fat,and only 220 calories per serving. You can omit the Crab and make it Vegetarian. Also Chopped Chicken Breast would work well with these vegetables. It is full of Zucchini, Spinach,mushrooms,and cheese. If you don't mind fat. Just add whole cheeses,and more of it. Enjoy this as an appetizer or main course with a side salad. It is very delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 - loaf of frozen bread dough thawed,and risin
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 - small onion chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 4 - small zucchini squash
  • 6 ounces washed baby spinach
  • 1 cup shredded reduced fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup reduced fat shredded monterey jack,or mexican cheese
  • 2 cans 6 ounce cans white crab meat rinsed and drained,or 12 ounces chopped chicken breast
  • MARINARA SAUCE IF DESIRED SERVED ON THE SIDE

How To Make low fat veggie stuffed bread with crab,or chicken

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degree's. Coat a 10 inch spring form pan with nonstick spray,and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Allow bread dough to rise,until doubled in size. Place the dough on a floured surface. Sprinkle dough with Thyme,and roll in to a 20 inch circle. Place dough in the inside of pan with the edges falling over the sides.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil in a skillet on medium heat.Add garlic,onion,mushrooms,salt,and pepper. Cook until veggies are tender. set aside.
  • Step 4
    Add Zucchini to a pan. Stir frequently until Zucchini is tender. Spoon half the mushroom mixture on top of dough evenly.
  • Step 5
    Top with half the Zucchini. Half the Spinach leaves. Half the mozzarella. Half the Mexican cheese,and half the crab meat, or Chicken. Repeat the layers until finished.
  • Step 6
    Bring the dough together over the top. Pinch edges together to seal. Place small slits in top for steam to escape.
  • Step 7
    Coat the top of dough with cooking spray. Bake for 55-70 minutes,or until golden brown. Remove ring from pan. Cool for 15 minutes. Cut in to wedges and serve.
