BEST crispy shrimp tacos!

I fell in love with Chili's crispy shrimp tacos and the absolute flavor explosion they imposed. These are hands down, a crowd pleaser and easy to make!

Deep Fry


1/2 lb
shrimp, peeled and deveined (the larger the better!)
onion, vidalia, peeled
1 can(s)
pineapple tidbits
1 jar(s)
jalapeno peppers
1 c
mexican blend shredded cheese
1 bottle
hidden valley ranch
1 bottle
honey chipotle bbq sauce (i used sweet baby ray's)
1/2 c
shredded lettuce
2 c
cultured buttermilk
2 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
salt and pepper (flour mix)
1 pkg
flour tortillas
vegetable oil for cooking


1Preheat oil in deep fryer or pan to about 375 degrees
2Peel and devein shrimp. Dip in buttermilk, then flour, then back in buttermilk and one more time in flour (two coats).
3Place battered shrimp hot oil until golden, about 5-7 minutes.
4While shrimp is cooking, dice tomatoes and onion, then combine with pineapple tidbits to make your salsa.
5Remove shrimp from grease and set on paper towel to absorb extra grease.
6Warm tortillas in microwave for about 20 seconds. Place shredded cheese in the bottom of the taco, then about three shrimp on top, drizzle a line of ranch, a line of BBQ sauce on top of the shrimp, a good spoonful of the pineapple salsa mix, jalapeños and lettuce. Voila! Enjoy!
