Ingredients
- 1 pound cooked chicken breast, cubed
- 2 boxes chicken broth
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
How To Make homemade chicken and dumplins

Step 1Allow cooked, cubed chicken and broth to come to a boil in a large stock pot.

Step 2Mix flour, salt, and soda in a large bowl. Add shortening and buttermilk and mix well until dough forms.

Step 3Pinch, or use a spoon, off teaspoon size pieces of dough and drop into broth until all dough is gone. Stir gently and allow to boil for 10 minutes. Add pepper to taste when serving.
