gg's chicken and dumplings
This is my grandma's chicken and dumpling recipe. (My daughter called her GG for "Great Grandma") When I was little we frequently had this after church for Sunday dinner. It was my favorite,and I usually requested it! Everytime I make it I think of my grandma and miss her dearly!

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 - large onion, chopped
- 1 - bell pepper, chopped
- 4-5 - celery stalks, chopped
- 1 - whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1/2 gallon water
- - salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1-2 can biscuits
How To Make gg's chicken and dumplings

Step 1Melt butter in a large pot and saute onion, bell pepper, and celery until tender but not browned.

Step 2Add chicken pieces and water; Cover and boil until chicken is tender and falls off bone. (about 1 hour)

Step 3Remove chicken pieces and reserve one cup of the broth.

Step 4Remove chicken from bones and add back to the pot.

Step 5Gradually add the flour to the reserved broth, stirring until smooth; add back to the pot.

Step 6Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7Bring mixture to a simmer; cut desired amount of biscuits into quarters and add to the mixture; let simmer about 10 minutes or until biscuits are done.
