-
3 1/2 cwater to cook rice
-
1 canfrank's kraut with caraway seeds
-
1 lbground turkey
-
1 cangolden mushroom or cream of mushroom soup
-
salt to season rice (use sparingly. sauerkraut is salty)
How To Make great and easy sauerkraut casserole
-
1First cook rice in 3 1/2 cups water with a small amount of salt (about half of what you would normally use) in rice cooker or on stove top for recommended time until tender.
-
2While rice is cooking, crumble and brown ground turkey and drain of juices.
-
3Open kraut and mix in with the cooked rice, juice and all. Mix in the browned meat, and the soup undiluted.
-
4You basically can eat it as soon as all the ingredients are combined (my kids do this) or you can put it in a casserole dish and bake until bubbly or microwave until heated through. It gets even better with time, and the next day the flavors have really had time to mingle.
