Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive or canola oil
  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 2-1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 - 4 oz canned diced, green chilis, drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 8 - hamburger rolls, toasted.

How To Make spicy, cheesy onion burgers

  • Step 1
    Heat grill to med-high. Combine onions and oil in square disposabe pan. In lg bowl, combine all ingredients except for cheese slices and rolls. Mix well w/ hands.
  • Step 2
    Make 8 patties out of mix. Place pan w/ onions on grill and cook, stirring for 10 mins. Remove pan from grill.
  • Step 3
    Cook burgers on grill, turning once, for about 10-12 mins. Top each burger w/ a slice of cheese and some onions. Serve on hamburger rolls.
