I really like to use my crockpot and when I found this in an old recipe book I bought at an auction it sounded wonderful.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds flank or round steak pounded thin
  • 1 can mushroom pieces, small can drained
  • 1 - small diced onion
  • 4 tablespoons grated, parmesan cheese
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water

How To Make steak roll parmesan

  • Step 1
    Place mushrooms, onion, cheese, salt, pepper, and parsley along center of steak. Beginning with short side, roll as tightly as possible into one roll. Fasten with string.
  • Step 2
    Brown meat roll well on all sides in hot oil in skillet and place in crock pot and add broth.
  • Step 3
    Cover and cook on Low 7-10 hours (On High 3-4 hours).
  • Step 4
    Thicken cooking liquid with mixture of 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup water or tiny pellets of butter and flour.
  • Step 5
    Place roll on serving platter and pour gravy over it.
