If you have ever been to the Mid-West or watched Rosanne you probably have heard of Maid-Rite also known as the loose meat sandwich. It's a kind of sloppy joe without the red sauce. It is served with mustard, pickle and onion but I do like mine with ketchup on it too. Not sure where this recipe comes from originally. Getcrocked.com has a version of it on there.

prep time 10 Min
cook time 4 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot

  • 2 tablespoons dried onions
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 1 - beef bouillon, cubes
  • 1 - chicken bouillon cube

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

How To Make maid rites (loose meat sandwiches)
