OK so I live in Texas and this is a recipe I got from my best friend who lives in Omaha Nebraska

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground sage crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 4 - 5 lb
    brisket
  • 1 tsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper

How to Make Lazy Texas Brisket

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Rub garlic into both sides of brisket. Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Rub into brisket. Set brisket fat side up on a large piece of foil and wrap tightly. Transfer to shallow roasting pan. Bake until tender, about 8 hours. Serve hot or cold with a barbecue sauce.
  2. NOTE: Many ovens cannot be lowered to 200 degrees. If so, cook at about 250 degrees, but reduce cooking time to 4 to 5 hours.
