You can also put this in the Crock Pot for about 12 or so hours. Add onion when you have four hours to go. Add carrots when you have 2 hours to go. Add cabbage when you have an hour to go. You could add cubed potatoes, but my family likes to mix their cabbage with mashed potatoes, so I serve this with the mashed potatoes and biscuits.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This corned beef and cabbage recipe is the definition of comfort food. The brisket is tender and stews with the cabbage, carrots, and onions giving the whole dish a tasty corned beef flavor. The vegetables are buttery and savory. A delicious dinner for St. Patrick's Day.

Note: If you want to cook potatoes with the corned beef, slice small red potatoes in half (a two-pound bag). Add them to the pot with the cabbage, letting them cook underneath. When the cabbage is done, so are the potatoes. Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen
