Stir fry is always a nice quick dish to prepare. You can trade out the beef for boneless skinless chicken or turkey breast. The sesame oil adds a distinct flavour and should not be left out of the recipe.

  • 1 lb
    lean sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 c
    thinly sliced sweet red pepper
  • 2 c
    trimmed snow peas
  • 1 c
    chopped green onions
  • 1 c
    low sodium, reduced fat chicken broth
  • 2 Tbsp
    reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp
    low fat peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated ginger root
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
    sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 c
    cooked brown rice

How to Make Beef Stir Fry


  1. Spray a large non stick wok or skillet with non stick spray. Add the beef and cook over high heat until beef is no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Remove beef from wok and set aside.
  2. Add red pepper, snow peas, and green onions to wok. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Whisk together broth, peanut butter, soy sauce, ginger root, cornstarch, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Add to vegetables, along with beef. Cook and stir until sauce is bubbly and thickened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Serve beef and vegetables over hot, cooked rice.
