white pizza w/ asparagus & ham

This is one of my all-time favs for pizza. A mild, healthy tasty pizza for anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • - salt and white pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons light cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped herbs, i used basil, parsley and thyme
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup cooked, diced ham
  • 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

How To Make white pizza w/ asparagus & ham

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 550. Place asparagus in microwaveable bowl. Cover, microwave 2 mins. Drain, place in bowl w/ ice water, drain well.
  • Step 2
    In bowl, combine ricotta, oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper and cream. Mix well. Stir in herbs. Sprinkle work surface w/ a little cornmeal or flour. Make a thin disk of dough uswing rolling pin. It should be about 9" in diameter.
  • Step 3
    Place dough on baking sheet. Spread ricotta mix over pizza crust. Top w/ ham and asparagus. Sprinkle w/ cheese. Place baking sheet on bottom rack of oven, bake 5 mins. Place baking sheet on top rack and bake another 5 mins or until cheese is melted and cryst is light brown.
