My mother-in-law used to cook dinner every Sunday. The original of this recipe was one of hers, with only broth, tortellini, celery and carrots. Although good, I like a little more substance, so I 'doctored' this up to our liking.

prep time 10 Min
cook time 20 Min
method Stove Top
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes chicken broth (32 oz)
  • 2 cans chicken breast (large)
  • 3 stalks celery sliced
  • 1/2 bag baby carrots chunked
  • 1 bunch green onions sliced
  • 1 box frozen peas
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - parsley flakes
  • 1 bag frozen three cheese tortellini

How To Make tortellini soup

  • Step 1
Put broth into large pan. Add celery, carrots, onions, and seasonings and bring to slow boil.
  • Step 2
Drain chicken and put into broth. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
Add frozen tortellini and peas. Cook another 5-10 minutes until pasta and peas are cooked.
  • Step 4
Serve with garlic bread and sprinkle with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
  • Step 5
    ENJOY!!!
