My family and I love this sauce. We serve it with a big focaccia, salad and fruit. nice light summer dinner. And, after all, who doesn't love the joy of eating "Street walker spaghetti"?

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 - onion, finely chopped
- 6 - garlic
- 1 tablespoon anchovy paste
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup kalamata olives, black olives and green olives mixed
- 3 tablespoons capers
- 2 cans 28 oz diced tomatoes with liquid
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- - salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 pound spaghetti
How To Make puttanesca sauce

Step 1In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium high heat.

Step 2Add the onion and saute until soft and lightly caramelized, about 6 minutes.

Step 3Add the garlic, tomato paste and anchovy paste and cook an additional 2 minutes.

Step 4Add the tomatoes and the remaining ingredients and simmer until the sauce is thickened and slightly reduced, about 40 minutes. Adjust seasonings.

Step 5Toss sauce with cooked pasta.
