homemade spaghetti sauce
I didn't have anymore sauce in the pantry, so had to make some! It is good with home canned tomatoes from the summer garden or good quality canned ones from the store.

How To Make homemade spaghetti sauce
-
Step 1In a sauce pan heat oil. Saute onion and garlic; rub dried herbs in palm of hand before adding to onion. Add tomatoes and juice, sugar, salt & pepper; (add frozen meatballs if desired). Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered until thickened to desired consistency Thick for pizza or calzone). Pour over pasta add fresh grated parmesan cheese over top. Sometimes I saute Italian sausage with the onion and omit the meatballs. When making vegetarian style, I leave out all meat!
