Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1
    onion
  • 5 clove
    garlic
  • 4 - 28 oz
    cans of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can(s)
    water
  • 3
    bay leaves
  • 1/2 c
    basil, fresh
  • 1 Tbsp
    oregano, fresh
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • ·
    garlic powder, onion powder,salt and pepper

How to Make Homemade Marinara Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oil in large dutch oven. Add onions and salt so that onions don't burn. Cook until the onions are soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  2. Pour in tomatoes, 1 can of water, and herbs. Cook for 30 minutes.
  3. Season with salt, pepper,sugar, garlic and onion powders.
