Nothing like a fresh mushroom pizza. Very earthy tasting. I always sprinkle a little crushed red hot pepper flakes on top to give it a bite.

olive oil
1 pt
refrigerated pizza dough ball, room temp.
1/2 c
marinara sauce, i used prego
1/4 lb
mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
1/4 lb
fresh mushrooms, sliced
hot pepper flakes, optional

How to Make Easy deep dish fresh mushroom pizza


  • 1Heat oven to 500. Using a paper towel, oil the bottom and sides of a lg cast iron skillet. On lightly floured surface, shape dough w/ hands, into a circle, a few inches larger than skillet.
  • 2Place dough in pan, gently press dough up the sides of pan. Spread sauce across dough. Top w/ cheese and mushrooms. sprinkle w/ red pepper flakes, if using.
  • 3Bake 20 mins, or until cheese is melted and bubbly, and crust is browned. Transfer to cutting board. Slice into wedges.
