This recipe comes from the back of the 14 ounce can of Pastene ceci beans (chickpeas). It looks like an easy recipe.

    14 oz pastene chick peas
  • 4 Tbsp
    pastene pure olive oil
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    14 oz pastene italian tomatoes
  • 1 clove
    garlic, chopped

    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Ceci (chickpea) Delight


  1. Heat Pastene Pure Olive Oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. When hot, saute onion and garlic until golden.
  3. Add Pastene Italian tomatoes and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. Add Pastene Chick Peas and continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes longer. They don't mention draining the liquid, so I would add that also.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Best served hot.
