This wonderful recipe was given to me by a close friend years ago and it has been a family favorite ever since! Enjoy! :)

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbground beef
-
1 mediumonion, diced
-
2 clovegarlic, minced
-
1 Tbspfresh basil, chopped

1 tspdried oregano
-
2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 1/2 tspsalt
-
29 ozcan petite diced tomatoes
-
2small cans tomato paste
-
12cooked lasagna noodles
-
2eggs, beaten
-
1 ptricotta cheese, part-skim
-
2 Tbspdried parsley
-
1 tspsalt
-
2 lbshredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 cfresh grated parmesan cheese
How to Make American Lasagna
- Preheat to 375*.
spray 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. - Sauce: Brown Ground beef, onion and garlic. Mix in basil, oregano, brown sugar, salt, diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer for 30 minutes
- Mix together: eggs, ricotta, ½ cup parmesan cheese, parsley and teaspoon salt.
- Lay four noodles in bottom of baking dish. Cover with sauce, ricotta mixture and mozzarella cheese. Repeat until out of noodles. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining grated parmesan cheese. Serve with Italian salad and crusty garlic bread or bread sticks.
