  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 2
    onins, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 c
    lite or regular mayonnaise
  • 1 large
    french loaf bread, cut in 1/2 lengthwise
  • 6 oz
    shredded swiss cheese

How to Make French onion bites


  1. Preheat broiler. In lg skillet, over med-high heat, heat oil. Add onions and saute until browned.
  2. Spread the mayonnaise over cut sides of bread. Place bread on a baking sheet and broil 6" from heat until light brown.
  3. Remove bread from oven. Cover each side of bread w/ some onions. Top evenly w/ cheese. Broil 2-3 mina, or until cheese melts. Cut into bit-size pieces for a quick appetizer.
