easy lower-fat quiche lorraine

I used lower fat cheeses, which doesn't take away from the taste, just lowers the fat a bit. You must use REAL brand bacon bits, or fry up some bacon and crumble and use that instead. Enjoy for a lunch w/ a salad, perfect!

Ingredients

  • 1 - unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 1 cup reduced-fat, shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup reduced-fat, shredded swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup real brand bacon bits
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup fat-free milk
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How To Make easy lower-fat quiche lorraine

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Spray a 9" pie pan w/ cooking spray. Place pie shell into pan.
  • Step 2
    In medium bowl, combine both cheeses. Sprinkle 1/2 the cheese mix into bottom of pie shell. Sprinkle bacon bits over cheese. Then sprinkle w/ remaining cheese.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, onion powder and pepper. Mix well. Pour milk mix over ingredients in pie shell. Sprinkle w/ nutmeg. place pie pan on lg baking sheet. Bake 45 min, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
