When I was younger, my grandpa used to make tuna patties and I always loved them. They were basically just tuna, eggs, and breadcrumbs. I took my cue from him but added a little more to the recipe and I really love them- as does my family.

Ingredients

  • 3 cans chunk light tuna, drained
  • 1 - onion, diced
  • 1 - celery stalk, diced
  • 1/2 - red, yellow, or orange bell pepper, diced
  • 3 tablespoons canola mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup instant potato flakes, dry
  • 2 - large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - salt and pepper
  • - canola oil

How To Make tuna patties

  • Step 1
    Mix together the first 7 ingredients. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder, stirring to combine.
  • Step 2
    Form tuna mixture into patties.
  • Step 3
    Drizzle canola oil in a large skillet. Add patties (in batches if necessary) and fry for about 4 minutes, or until browned, on each side. Serve.
