My mom used to make this meal as a quick Friday night treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato puree large can
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cans tuna (packed in water)
  • 1 can peas
  • 2 tablespoons romano cheese
  • 3/4 pound whole wheat thin spaghetti
  • 4 cups water to boil pasta

How To Make tuna and peas with whole wheat spagetti

  • Step 1
    Put olive oil in pot. Brown the onion and garlic
  • Step 2
    Add the tomato puree and let it cook for about 30 minutes
  • Step 3
    Add the wine and then the sugar. Simmer another 30 minutes
  • Step 4
    Break the tuna apart and add to tomato sauce
  • Step 5
    Add the peas and cheese, simmer for another 15 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Boil water for pasta. Add salt and pasta. Cook pasta for about 10 minutes
  • Step 7
    Drain pasta, put sauce over the pasta and serve
  • Step 8
    Add more grated Romano cheese to taste
