This is the base for a do your own thing meal. You could use a different fish. Or add more vegetables. I often add snowpeas, sliced carrots and/or bean sproats.
I used to serve it with rice but now that I'm trying to keep low carb I eat it as is.

    nappa cabbage
  • 2
    haddock filets
  • 1 c
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1 tsp
    rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    ginger root slices
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    cooking sherry

How to Make Steamed Fish


  1. Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger slices, garlic and cooking sherry.
  2. Marinate fish for 10-30 minutes.
  3. If not using electric steamer, start the water boiling.
  4. Arrange cabbage in steamer.
  5. Place fish on top of cabbage and any other vegetables.
  6. Steam fish and vegetables for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes.
