HEB had salmon filets for $3.97 lb yesterday, so I bought 2 pounds for less than $10/ Isn't that amazing. I came up with this marinade based on what I have in the pantry and it came out pretty good.

prep time 1 Hr
cook time 15 Min
method Grill
yield 4-6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 4-6 - salmon filets
  • MARINADE:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup djon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice

How To Make grilled salmon by bates

  • Step 1
Whisk all ingredients for marinade until mixture is well blended and smooth. Place salmon in shallow dish and brush generously with marinade Place in fridge for 1 hour
  • Step 2
When ready to cook, preheat grill to medium high heat. Remove salmon from fridge and give another brushing with marinade NOTE: IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GRILL USE A CAST IRON OR HEAVY NON STICK SKILLET.
  • Step 3
Place salmon skin side up on grill and cook 3-5 minutes, then turn skin side down and cook 3-5 more minutes Check frequently to avoid overcooking (your grill may cook faster than mine). Fish is done when you can easily flake it with a fork. Plate and serve immediately.
