Ingredients

  • FOR THE FISH

  • 4
    fish steaks, 4 ounces each, 3/4-inch thick (such as halibut)
  • 1/3 c
    lime juice
  • 1/4 c
    beer
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • SALSA

  • 2 medium
    tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 c
    purple onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    green chiles, chopped
  • 3 dash(es)
    hot sauce

How to Make Grilled Fish Mexicana with Salsa

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the fish steaks in a shallow dish.
  2. Combine the lime juice and the next 7 ingredients in a small bowl; stir well. Pour the marinade mixture over the fish; cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour, turning once.
  3. Remove the fish from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  4. Grill, covered, over medium-hot coals (350 to 400) for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, basting occasionally with reserved marinade. Serve with the salsa.
  5. Salsa: Combine all salsa ingredients; chill 1 hour.
