Ingredients

  • FOR THE FISH
  • 4 - fish steaks, 4 ounces each, 3/4-inch thick (such as halibut)
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup beer
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • SALSA
  • 2 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 cup purple onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons green chiles, chopped
  • 3 dashes hot sauce

How To Make grilled fish mexicana with salsa

  • Step 1
    Place the fish steaks in a shallow dish.
  • Step 2
    Combine the lime juice and the next 7 ingredients in a small bowl; stir well. Pour the marinade mixture over the fish; cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour, turning once.
  • Step 3
    Remove the fish from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  • Step 4
    Grill, covered, over medium-hot coals (350 to 400) for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, basting occasionally with reserved marinade. Serve with the salsa.
  • Step 5
    Salsa: Combine all salsa ingredients; chill 1 hour.
