I made this one day when I had some extra shrimp and didn't know what to do w/ it. It came out so yummy. Great w/ some crusty french bread.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic in olive oil
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 cans diced tomatoes w/ chilis, undrained
- 1 cup frozen okra, thawed
- 1 cup water
- 1 pound lg shrimp, peeled, deveined
How To Make easy gumbo w/ shrimp

Step 1In lg pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, green bell pepper and garlic. Cook until veggies are tender.

Step 2Stir in flour, chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper. Cook, stirring for 1 min. Add tomatoes, okra and water. Simmer for 10 mins.

Step 3Add shrimp and cook until shrimp turn pink. Heat through.
