buttery baked salmon

This is my own quick and easy recipe for a very moist, buttery baked salmon. It is lightly flavored with Old Bay seasoning, a touch of lemon, and garlic and herb seasoning. Don't shy away from trying this because of the amount of butter used. Most of the butter remains in the pan. I serve it with a baked potato, romaine salad, and cheddar chive biscuits. Simply delicious. Also, there is almost no clean-up!

Ingredients

  • cooking spray or oil
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 portions fresh salmon, skinless and boneless (6 - 8 oz each)
  • fresh chives, parsley, lemon slices for garnish, if desired

How To Make buttery baked salmon

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Lightly coat with cooking oil spray or oil; set aside.
  • Step 2
Put butter in a small microwave-safe bowl or cup. Place in microwave and heat just until melted, about 20-30 seconds on high power.
  • Step 3
Stir in Old Bay, garlic and herb seasoning, lemon juice, and sea salt into the melted butter; set aside.
  • Step 4
Place salmon portions on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon or pour the melted butter mixture over the salmon, turning each piece to evenly coat with the butter.
  • Step 5
Sprinkle each with a grind of black pepper, if desired (recommended).
  • Step 6
Place on the middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake at 425 degrees F for approximately 11-13 minutes or until no longer dark pink in the center and flakes easily. Do not overcook.
  • Step 7
Remove to a warm serving plate. Spoon a little of the buttery juice over each, if desired (recommended). Garnish as desired. Serve immediately. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
