a search for a recipe lead me to and this recipe. I made this tonight and we loved it! Wished we had more trout for leftovers! I did alter the recipe some to our taste, and here is my version of it

16 oz
lake trout
1 stick
butter, melted
3 Tbsp
lemon juice concentrate
3 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
salt, cayenne pepper or cajun seasoning to taste
1 medium
onion, thinly sliced

How to Make Broiled Trout


  • 1turn broiler on to preheat
  • 2season trout with salt and cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning
  • 3mix butter, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce together
  • 4place trout in shallow broiler pan lined with foil
  • 5pour butter mixture over trout, broil for 5 to 7 minutes
  • 6turn trout over with spatula and cover with onions
  • 7broil 5 to 7 minutes longer until trout is flakey. Be careful because it will burn quickly
  • 8remove some of the onions before serving
