a search for a recipe lead me to and this recipe. I made this tonight and we loved it! Wished we had more trout for leftovers! I did alter the recipe some to our taste, and here is my version of it

  • 16 oz
    lake trout
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp
    lemon juice concentrate
  • 3 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • ·
    salt, cayenne pepper or cajun seasoning to taste
  • 1 medium
    onion, thinly sliced

How to Make Broiled Trout


  1. turn broiler on to preheat
  2. season trout with salt and cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning
  3. mix butter, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce together
  4. place trout in shallow broiler pan lined with foil
  5. pour butter mixture over trout, broil for 5 to 7 minutes
  6. turn trout over with spatula and cover with onions
  7. broil 5 to 7 minutes longer until trout is flakey. Be careful because it will burn quickly
  8. remove some of the onions before serving
