How to Make SALMON PATTIES (SALLYE)
- Turn can of salmon out into bowl, juice included.
Pick out obvious bones (although if you leave them in it doesn't hurt)
Break up into chunks
Add salt, pepper and garlic powder - Add lightly beaten egg and mix well with salmon
- Add meal, flour and baking powder
Mix well until the result is a stiff dough-like batter (Add more meal if necessary) - In heavy skillet, pour enough cooking oil to cover the bottom of pan about 1/2" deep
Heat oil on medium high heat until it begins to barely smoke - Hand form salmon mixture into 6 patties and place in hot oil
Cook each side until brown and crispy (about 5-6 minutes per side) - Drain on paper towel and serve while still hot.
