We eat a lot of fish here in Louisiana. From red snapper to catfish. From the ocean to fresh water. We eat a LOT of fish here. Trout in one of the fish that my family eats a lot of. Other than catfish that is.

Ingredients

  • 1 package 8-oz sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 4 - 4-oz trout fillets

How To Make baked trout

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place mushrooms in a 11x7" baking dish. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of the margarine; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In medium bowl, combine bread crumbs, salt and pepper; stir well.
  • Step 3
    Dip fillets in 3 tablespoons of the margarine, then dredge in crumb mixture.
  • Step 4
    Place fillets on top of mushrooms. Drizzle with remaining 3 tablespoons margarine. Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork.
