This is the BEST semi-homemade sauce I've ever made!! It has so much flavor and blends together so nicely! This could easily be made into a wonderful vegetarian pasta dish by omitting chicken and adding more veggies of your choice. This cheesy but light dish will quickly become your favorite too!

Ingredients

  • 15 oz
    jar alfredo sauce
  • 1 c
    chipotle gouda (boar's head cheese) shredded
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese,shredded
  • 14 1/2 oz
    canned diced tomatoes with sweet onions (hunt's brand)
  • 3/4 c
    plain nonfat yogurt
  • 1/2 c
    skim milk
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    dried parsley flakes
  • 2-3 c
    diced chicken, cooked
  • 8 oz
    fresh mushrooms
  • 1 lb
    ziti rigati pasta (or pasta of your choice)
  • 1/2 c
    whole wheat bread crumbs

How to Make Zesty Alfredo Pasta Heaven

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a 13x9 baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare pasta to al dente per package directions; drain. Meanwhile,in a skillet, brown chicken in a olive oil; dice and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, saute mushrooms in olive oil.
  4. In bowl, combine alfredo sauce, chipotle gouda, parmesan, canned tomatoes, yogurt, milk, water and dried parsley; blend well.
  5. Combine all ingredients and pour into prepared dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes until bubbly. Serve.
