My sister-in-law is amazing, and she can cook, and I love her dearly. Her recipe is so good, it goes well with ham, meatloaf, chicken and pork. If you want to add color to a dish, this is a nice touch!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 jar 4 oz. pimentoes,chopped or sliced,drained
  • 1 - green bell pepper, sliced

How To Make sweet & sour sauce -joyce's recipe

  • Step 1
    Drain and reserve pineapple. Melt butter, add brown sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in juice, add vinegar and soy sauce.
  • Step 2
    Then combine pineapple,chopped or sliced pimentoes and sliced green peppers with the above mixture, stirring and cooking over boiling water (to prevent burning). Cook until green peppers are soft.
  • Step 3
    This keeps well in the refrigerator, and it may be reheated easily in the microwave or on the stovetop.
