My sister-in-law is amazing, and she can cook, and I love her dearly. Her recipe is so good, it goes well with ham, meatloaf, chicken and pork.
If you want to add color to a dish, this is a nice touch!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 1 can(s)
    pineapple tidbits
  • 1/3 c
    vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 jar(s)
    4 oz. pimentoes,chopped or sliced,drained
  • 1
    green bell pepper, sliced

How to Make Sweet & Sour Sauce -Joyce's recipe

Step-by-Step

  1. Drain and reserve pineapple. Melt butter, add brown sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in juice, add vinegar and soy sauce.
  2. Then combine pineapple,chopped or sliced pimentoes and sliced green peppers with the above mixture, stirring and cooking over boiling water (to prevent burning). Cook until green peppers are soft.
  3. This keeps well in the refrigerator, and it may be reheated easily in the microwave or on the stovetop.
