How to Make Stromboli

  1. Cook meat and drain grease; set aside.
  2. In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  3. Stir in sugar, salt and oil.
  4. Add flour; beat for 2 minutes and let rest for 5.
  5. Grease a cookie sheet or other type of baking sheet.
  6. Add sauce and other seasonings to meat and mix.
  7. On floured board, flatten out dough into a rectangle (it doesn't have to be perfect) about 1/4" thick.
  8. Spread meat/sauce mixture over the dough.
  9. Spread cheese evenly over the meat mixture.
  10. Roll from long side, seal edges.
  11. Transfer to greased baking sheet, bending into a "C" shape.
  12. Bake at 350 degrees until browned (about 35 minutes).
  13. I like to lightly brush the top of mine with butter after I pull it out of the oven, but you don't have to.
