Ingredients

  • 1-3 dozen - bone in skin on chicken wings
  • Water - water to cover
  • 2 bottles apple ale
  • 1/2 cup smoke salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 each dash garlic powder, onion powder,
  • 3 Heavy dashes black pepper
  • 1 cup hot sauce
  • DRY RUB
  • 1-2 cup your favorite dry rub or poultry seasoning, i personally use honey pecan rub and mccormic's apple rub

How To Make smoked chicken wings

  • Step 1
    Combine all but dry rub and let soak for at least 2 hours, over night is better
  • Step 2
    Take chicken wings out and while still wet rub with whatever dry rub your gonna use
  • Step 3
    Place in single layer in basket (I use a veggy grill basket) and put into preheated smoker between 225-250'ish for 3 hours. Do not open smoker, if your lookin, you ain't cookin! I personally prefer pecan wood with maybe one stick of oak.
  • Step 4
    Take out and dress with your favorite BBQ sauce or wing sauce, or just have dry! Enjoy!!
