Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken or turkey breast
  • 3/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons no salt added chile powder
  • 1 tablespoon demerara sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 10 ounces low sodium tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 4 - hamburger buns, whole wheat

How To Make sloppy joe's

  • Step 1
    Brown meat with onion, green pepper and garlic until onions are soft and meat cooked.
  • Step 2
    Add other ingredients and simmer 10 minutes. Serve.
