Savory Chicken in a Crock Pot

I use the largest chicken breasts for this that I can find, so that they fill up the crock pot.
Don't overcook, or you will have shredded chicken instead of chicken breasts.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


6 large
boneless chicken breast halves
2 Tbsp
fresh oregano, chopped
1/4 tsp
black pepper, fresh ground
3 Tbsp
1 c
chicken stock
1/4 c
white wine
3 Tbsp
lemon juice
2 clove
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp
minced fresh parsley


1Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Combine oregano and pepper and rub over chicken. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken breasts on each side in the butter. Transfer chicken to slow cooker.
2Add broth, wine, lemon juice, and garlic to skillet and bring to a boil while stirring. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low power for 5 hours. Sprinkle with the parsley and cook an additional 15 minutes. Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°.
3We like this served with rice pilaf or one of the Italian risotto dishes, and fresh asparagus or broccoli.
