I use the largest chicken breasts for this that I can find, so that they fill up the crock pot.
Don't overcook, or you will have shredded chicken instead of chicken breasts.

Ingredients

  • 6 large
    boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper, fresh ground
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    chicken stock
  • 1/4 c
    white wine
  • 3 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced fresh parsley

How to Make Savory Chicken in a Crock Pot

Step-by-Step

  1. Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Combine oregano and pepper and rub over chicken. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken breasts on each side in the butter. Transfer chicken to slow cooker.
  2. Add broth, wine, lemon juice, and garlic to skillet and bring to a boil while stirring. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low power for 5 hours. Sprinkle with the parsley and cook an additional 15 minutes. Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°.
  3. We like this served with rice pilaf or one of the Italian risotto dishes, and fresh asparagus or broccoli.
