Savory Chicken in a Crock Pot

Susan Feliciano

I use the largest chicken breasts for this that I can find, so that they fill up the crock pot.
Don't overcook, or you will have shredded chicken instead of chicken breasts.

How to Make Savory Chicken in a Crock Pot

  • 1Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Combine oregano and pepper and rub over chicken. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken breasts on each side in the butter. Transfer chicken to slow cooker.
  • 2Add broth, wine, lemon juice, and garlic to skillet and bring to a boil while stirring. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low power for 5 hours. Sprinkle with the parsley and cook an additional 15 minutes. Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°.
  • 3We like this served with rice pilaf or one of the Italian risotto dishes, and fresh asparagus or broccoli.
