Ever have a day when you had that someone extra coming for lunch or dinner and you didn't pull anything out of the freezer or even plan for a meal? That was me yesterday. I didn't have any ground beef in the freezer but I did have a lb of ground chicken. Yes, I sure did cook it frozen. Add a little water to the pot and break it up as it cooks...works every time! I had a new 1-lb roll of Tennessee Pride sausage in the fridge. Everything else I needed was in the pantry. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage, hot or mild (your choice, i used tennessee pride-mild)
  • 1 pound ground chicken, turkey or beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional (i like a little heat in almost everything i eat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon everglades seasoning, all purpose
  • 1 - 28-oz can spaghetti sauce, your choice
  • 1 - 8-oz can tomato sauce
  • - parmesan cheese
  • - pasta, cooked

How To Make quick and easy companies coming spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
    Brown meat(s)with olive oil in a heavy 6-quart pot. Drain off any fat once meat is cooked.
  • Step 2
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer for an hour.
  • Step 3
    Serve over your favorite pasta, a tossed salad and garlic cheese toast.
