  • 4 Tbsp
    margarine or butter
  • 2/3 c
    baking mix
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper
  • 3 lb
    chicken pieces or breast

How to Make Oven Fried Chicken


  1. Heat oven to 425F. Melt margarine in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  2. Stir together baking mix, salt, black pepper and red pepper. Coat chicken with mixture.
  3. Place chicken in baking dish and bake uncovered 35 minutes. Turn chicken over and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Alernate Recipe and Directions:
    Follow directions in #1.
    Mix 1 tsp season salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper and 1/2 tsp paprika . Rub chicken pieces with mixture. Then coat in baking mix and proceed with #3.
