I used to make a basic version of this recipe, but recently made some changes, and it ended up tasting like a sweet dish you might find at an Asian restaurant. Since I'm always trying to find a good sauce for Asian recipes, I was thrilled to stumble on this and wanted to share it.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 4 Hr
method ---
yield 5-6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2-3 pounds skinless boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 bottle honey bbq sauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar or splenda for sugar free
  • 1+ - green bell pepper, chopped small
  • 1 cup frozen, shredded carrots (use chopped if shreds aren't available)
  • 1 - medium onion, coarsely chopped
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, optional

How To Make mock asian crockpot chicken dish

  • Step 1
Put first six ingredients into medium to large crock pot. Fill BBQ sauce bottle with the water and with cap on, shake to remove remaining sauce. Add to crock pot along with orange juice if using it. Cook on high 3-4 hours removing lid if desired in latter part of cooking to reduce sauce a bit. Serve over white or brown rice. Very tasty yet healthy.
