man catching fried chicken

This chicken promises to "catch a man". If he doesn't take the bait then he isn't worth having! Note: If you can't find Kentucky Kernel seasoned flour at the store then you are welcome to use 3 cups of self-rising flour seasoned with salt and pepper and omit the baking powder. I buy mine at Walmart, but you can always order it online through Amazon or at hodgsonmill.com. For frying, use a deep skillet. An iron skillet is preferred, or a fry daddy works too!

Ingredients

  • 8 - pieces of chicken, a mixture of thighs and legs
  • 2 - eggs
  • 4 cups buttermilk
  • 3 cups seasoned flour (I use Kentucky Kernel)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • - vegetable oil

How To Make man catching fried chicken

  • Step 1
In a large bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Step 2
Pour the buttermilk into a 9x13 glass baking dish. Add the eggs and whisk together.
  • Step 3
Place the chicken into the buttermilk and egg mixture and let marinate at least 1 hour. (Or cover it and let it sit overnight in the fridge.)
  • Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet. Mix the baking powder with the seasoned flour in a large bowl. Roll the chicken pieces, one at a time, in the flour and place in the skillet. Put at many pieces in the skillet or fryer that will fit without crowding. Fry until golden brown. If you're frying in a skillet, the chicken will take about 7-8 minutes on each side. If using a fry daddy, fry at 360 degrees F for about 15 min.
