Ingredients
- 1 2 1/2 pound chicken, cut into serving pieces
- salt & pepper
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon better than bouillon chicken (or chicken stock base of your choice)
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 cup sour cream
How To Make hungarian-style chicken paprikash

Step 1Sprinkle chicken, front & back, with salt & pepper. Toss chicken in mustard and coat evenly. Place chicken in a roasting pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven.

Step 2Saute onions in butter until tender and translucent in a pan large enough to contain chicken. Add brown sugar and cook until sugar has melted. Add ketchup, stock base, wine, tomato sauce, paprika and s & p. Simmer mixture for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 3Transfer chicken to sauce and simmer 15 minutes. Adjust seasoning. Just before serving, add sour cream and stir until mixed and heated through. Serve chicken with buttered egg noodles, if desired.
