Created this last night for my husband and myself. It makes enough for 4 servings. It was subtle and delicious. This is the first of my recipes posted for weight loss. I am going to create recipes that are healthy and really taste good but more importantly are low in total calories. I have a long journey ahead but I have already lost 14 pounds. Time to make time for me! I hope you can enjoy some of my original creations along the way.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 3 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken breasts cut into 3x3inch pieces
  • 1 bag sliced green beans, or 2-3 cups fresh if available
  • THE SAUCE
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4-6 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup barbeque sauce, the sweet type
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

How To Make honey garlic crock pot chicken breasts

  • Step 1
Take the boneless, skinless chicken breasts and after cutting to chunks, place on the bottom of slow cooker.
  • Step 2
Mix all the sauce ingredients well and pour over chicken.
  • Step 3
Cook on high for 2 hours. Then add green beans. Stirring them into the sauce.
  • Step 4
Continue cooking on high for another half an hour or until the beans are cooked. If you use fresh green beans add them a half an hour earlier. Everyone's crock pots are a bit different. My high is pretty high. I use the temperature probe method to ensure the chicken is done but not overcooked.
  • Step 5
Serve over rice accompanied by a dry white wine and some good conversation. The only picture of have is of our left overs! If anyone makes this don't hesitate to add a picture!
